Services of a HR Management System

A Human Resource Management System is software which manages and controls the human resources functions of an organization. With the use of an hr management system, all the activities related to HR are electronically handled. It saves time along with other financial and physical resources of the organization. Along with this, the productivity of employees also rises due to the electronic operations.

There are a number of functions of the human resources department which are managed by the HR management system. Major functions include employee performance tracking procedure involving skills, salary, abilities and other accomplishments. In order to benefit from an HR management system, an organization can either contact its internal IT department or it can hire external parties to provide customized software.

The HR management system has several modules and each module is responsible for handling a variety of human resources functions. The major modules of HR management system include payroll which handles the entire payroll and salary related functions of the organization along with a database which records and saves employee information.

The module for attendance records tracks the attendance as well as the in and out timings of the employees. There is also a separate module of employee self-service through which employees of the organization can perform their personal functions such as salary records along with other important employee records. The performance of employees could also be reviewed through the performance evaluation module of the HR management system.

The important functions of recruitment and selection are managed through the learning and recruitment management modules as well as employee scheduling modules. Along with these modules, there are separate modules in the hr management system which could be used for analysis of all the information gathered through the other modules. This analysis could help the HR managers in planning as well as other decision-making purposes.

Before making the decision to buy an HR management system, managers need to identify the exact needs of the organization. Along with the needs and the requirements, the long-term, as well as short-term business processes of the organizations, should be assessed. In order to successfully fulfil the initial criteria for the buying procedure, HR managers and professionals should be involved in the entire process because they will be the ones using the hr management system. If this is not done, then the organization may end up buying a system which is not needed by the human resources personnel.
